ABOUT THE TAI LUE

Women from the Tai Lue ethnic minority group in the north of Laos are expert weavers and natural dyers.  They grow their own indigenous cotton and indigo, which they hand weave in the complex tapestry technique for their traditional shawls.  We purchase indigo cotton shawls directly from Tai Lue weavers in Laos, repurposing them into bags and small accessories.  We often pair their handwoven cotton with handwoven Hmong hemp, highlighting the beauty of these two natural fibers.
