ABOUT THE PHOU TAI

Women of the PHOU TAI in the south of Laos are expert ikat weavers and indigo dyers.  Ikat is a design technique in which the threads are tie-dyed before weaving, and the tied design emerges as the cloth is woven.  We purchase traditional indigo ikat skirt fabrics directly from Phou Tai weavers in Laos and design pillows and table runners with these beautiful textiles.
