About the Black Flower Hmong

Women from the Black Flower Hmong ethnic minority group of northern Vietnam hand draw intricate batik designs for their traditional clothing.  Using locally foraged beeswax and natural indigo dye, their designs feature popular Hmong motifs.  In the Hmong tradition, they must have new clothes for their new year,  We purchase used skirts, jackets, and other textiles directly from Black Flower Hmong women in their villages, providing a source of income from clothing they no longer wear.  We repurpose their hand-drawn, indigo-dyed fabrics into one-of-a-kind bags, small accessories and home wares.
