About the Black HMONG

Women from the Black Hmong ethnic minority group in northern Vietnam are expert hemp weavers, batik artists, natural indigo dyers and embroiderers.  They employ all of these techniques in the making of their traditional clothing. In the Hmong tradition, they must have new clothes for the New Year.  We purchase traditional clothing directly from Black Hmong women in rural northern Vietnam, providing income for something they no longer use. We repurpose their beautiful handiwork into one-of-a-kind bags, small accessories, pillows and table runners.
